I’ve never gotten malachite green / formalin treatments to work in marine aquariums, although it works really well in freshwater.
The three copper meds that work well are coppersafe, copper power and Cupramine. You need a good copper test kit also

How long do you keep them in QT with copper personally? I’ve read it’s 7-30 days. I’d like to use a product that would treat them as fast as possible as I’m afraid of ammonia spikes

14 days minimum, but I always run 30 days...but you’ll need to manage your ammonia levels as you said.
