Fragging Xenia

Does anybody have any experience in getting corals off of a big rock without killing the coral? I need to move a piece that spread to a part of my tank that I don't want it in.

good luck with xenia that stuff is like a weed. In my experience with it, it will either grow or not and if it does it will can take over a tank. I would suggest if its on a rock you don't it on to just get in there with a razor and cut it off

Alright. Should I cut the Xenia trunk or should I try to get between the Xenia foot and the rock?

You can probably just peel it off the rock. If you cut it off, what's left on the rock will grow again.

Alright. I'll have to try peeling it. It has taken half my tank in a matter of 4 months

Nasty stuff, I had to get rid of It after it took over a large portion of the tank, any piece floating in the water will attach somewhere and grow new heads. Be warned!
