Sorry I've been so quiet lately. Unfortunately I tore my miniscus and I am in the middle of recovery after surgery. I had no one to watch over my tanks since late October and the lights have been off ever since, with no feeding, or water changes. No that I'm back to walking I'm getting back into the hobby. The move is off, so I'm focusing back on the hobby. Here is my tank as of now.

Terrible and I've suffered many casualties including my prized clams and anemones. All of my orange frogspawn and corals have died. No fish have passed luckily. I'm on my way back from the store with a 40 gallon tank with the dimensions of 48x13x16. It feels good to be back. I'll keep this thread updated with pictures. Feels great to be back.

Stuff happens. Glad your able to get back in the game ! Still have those cool clowns ?

Yes. After my last home game when I suffered the injury I made sure to have my parents have my lfs take care of them. I'm picking them up soon. And thanks everyone for the kind words.

Do you think I'll be able to grow anything with these lights? Current nova 4x54 watt T5 with individual reflectors. In the 55 gallon which I belive was 21 inches tall I could support clams and anemones and obviously Lps zoas and soft corals. With this tank being 16 inches deep before the sandbed is put in could I support sps?

Looking good so far and I would think that light would be sufficient if the SPS are positioned high on the rocks.

I'm using crushed coral and live sand for this tank. Placed the crushed coral in after washing many times and I can't see an inch into the tank. How long should it be before this is cleared up?

Tank is clear. I will most likely move over the rocks today. Unfortunately no picture yet, I'm still in school and do not get out until 3 pm. I will post more pictures later tonight.

Unfortunately things happened much quicker than expected. Transferred all the rock and went to the old tank which I was keeping the fish in and saw at least 20 gallons on the floor. Somehow the seam split. I had to move the fish over. Luckily it's only a small wrasse, a clown, and two damsels. I'm thinking because my rock is already well established and the filter is completely established the only new thing is the sand, water and tank, and the sand is live sand. Hopefully this avoids a large cycle.

Bummer about the seam splitting! You should be fine as far as cycling goes. I would just be thankful that you were in the process of doing the move. It could be much, much worse.

As crappy as it is that it happened, this is the best time it could of happened. All I had to do was net 4 fish and i was in the clear. Luckily the portion of the house this was in has granite flooring so it just needed mopped up. No damage to the floor.

everything is out and swimming around, I sold all of my coral before this happened because I thought I was moving to Korea, but it turns out I forgot to sell some. Just some zoas, green polyps, and an ultra grade mushroom. The coral is starting to open. I also bought a wrasse last year and never saw it so I assumed it had died. When my fish went through weeks without food because no one could care for them I was assured he hadn't made it because he had been missing for over 9 months and they ave such a small stomach. Turns out he was feeding on my Copepods and he is still here!
