Frog spawn questions

Just a quick question, but do frog spawns grow in a different way than hammers?
I’ve never actually seen my My hammers growing a new head I’ve just noticed that when the tentacles are receded at night they seem to have split off from each other. The other day I got my first frog spawn, and today I noticed this:

Am I correct in thinking that those are little frog spawn heads growing?
