Merry Christmas!!!!! Hope everyone is having a great holidayMERRY CHRISTMAS...
I really wish lol it would be tang heaven , but I’ve heard success using this stuff and I also have a lot of bubble algae so I’ll be happy if it all dies outGet some!! Too bad you can't borrow a kole tang for a month
Looks like a watermelon BTA. It does look a little bleached, but not too bad. Especially since you can still see the color in the tips.Traded more Xenia today for a BTA with some green fuzzy mushrooms on rock. BTA came from new tank and was very unhappy , is anyone able to tell if it’s a RBTA or GBTA? It does have red tips , I’m thinking it might be a bleached rbta
That would be awesome! I’ll let it be and I know probly will move from the rock , gave it some cipro before moving to DT hoping it starts recovering. Other owner said it was floating around in the tank , mouth is fully closed so I’m hoping it will recover nicelyLooks like a watermelon BTA. It does look a little bleached, but not too bad. They are tough and with it being a green strain, it should stay lower in the tank and may even seek out shade to where it gets light from the reflection off the glass. As long as it does not gape at the mouth, start to lose tents, it should be all good. That would be awesome! Never realized that green like lower light , but ye most of them do go towards darker portions except one new split that likes the absolute top of tank lolThey are tough and with it being a green strain, it should stay lower in the tank and may even seek out shade to where it gets light from the reflection off the glass. Trick in mixing greens and reds, IME, is to run a crap ton of carbon and change it regularly.Never realized that green like lower light , but ye most of them do go towards darker portions except one new split that likes the absolute top of tank lol
Hoping it does well , I’d rather not have to dose cipro again
How often would you change it out in a reactor, running one standard on a nem tank? I have no idea how long carbon lasts..Trick in mixing greens and reds, IME, is to run a crap ton of carbon and change it regularly.
I usually run 2 - 3 bags of chemi pure blue in the sump , I am actually not running carbon right now due to dosing flucanzole hopefully it’ll be ok for the next couple weeksTrick in mixing greens and reds, IME, is to run a crap ton of carbon and change it regularly.
I like to change out my chemipure blue (75g size) every month but i run three at a time so , oldest one gets thrown out , new one in. So I have them in for 3 monthsHow often would you change it out in a reactor, running one standard on a nem tank? I have no idea how long carbon lasts..
Every month. I typically run double what is recommended if mixing nems. The big tank is an exception, it get a gallon of carbon a month, but it is also almost 600 gallons combined water volume and it has a crap ton of all types of nems. How often would you change it out in a reactor, running one standard on a nem tank? Do you buy bulk carbon? It's $15 for 10oz here.Every month. I typically run double what is recommended if mixing nems. The big tank is an exception, it get a gallon of carbon a month, but it is also almost 600 gallons combined water volume and it has a crap ton of all types of nems.
I would say to just run double what is recommended and change every month. Do not worry if you have tangs, just rinse the carbon well and make sure it does not tumble and make dust.
You know how many tangs I have and how old they are. I run tons of carbon in all my tanks. Just got to make sure no dust.
