Same here man, I do miss having snakes. I’ll own another one day once I’m no longer apartment living and can get my man cave lol. Boas were one my favs as well they were always so gentle and never showed aggression. I wish I had pics of my white lipped python as well , I think they are underratedThis makes me miss my snakes.
My female Surinam (BCC) used to kick it on my shoulder/neck while I was coming/eating dinner for many years.
I'd love to get back in with Jeff Ronne and have him make me a new Boaphile stack, and hand pick a few neonates for me.Same here man, I do miss having snakes. Yes that was freshly after entering tank, I’ve since buried the tube and I’m ok with it stinging Xenia / the green palys both kinda taking over lol and I’m not going to feed it , last one I had started feeding got gigantic I think it will be fine with whatever it catchesGood stuff.
Did you bury the cocoon of the tube? It looks like it's just laying on the sand. Fair warning, That thing's going to clear an 8-in space around it by mercilessly eviscerating everything it can touch. Place it wisely.
Unless you've got a lot of particulate food floating around in your water 24/7, that's the equivalent of starving it to death.Yes that was freshly after entering tank, I’ve since buried the tube and I’m ok with it stinging Xenia / the green palys both kinda taking over lol and I’m not going to feed it , last one I had started feeding got gigantic I think it will be fine with whatever it catches
True, I meant more of no direct feedings , I broadcast mysis daily I think it will catch some. The other tube nem used to eat mysis by the cube itself lol it was becoming a monsterUnless you've got a lot of particulate food floating around in your water 24/7, that's the equivalent of starving it to death.
Maybe feed it less and less often but don't, Not feed a nps coral.
Yeah a whole cube is a lot. I feed mine small cuts of shrimp, and pellets directly I'd say every 3-5 days It catches whatever food I'm feeding the fish daily.True, I meant more of no direct feedings , I broadcast mysis daily I think it will catch some. It felt like that monster in Star Wars and could eat however much willing to give. You schedule sounds good I’ll throw some mysis it’s way every now and thenYeah a whole cube is a lot. Welcome! love the snakes specially the black one, I basically started reefing the same way... have had fresh water for 15 years, always wanted salt but was honestly too scared to do it, Fiancée and friend convinced me to give it a try, now I'm consolidating fresh water tanks for more salt water roomHey everyone , this is a long overdue build thread. Life has been hectic but great! Little about me , I’m 27 living in SoCal , just got engaged and have a love for all animals but mainly reptiles and fish. I’ve always been fascinated by saltwater but always saw it as hard too time consuming , until my fiancé encouraged me to try and I can say I love it! I only have a saltwater tank now as I didn’t want to have too many pets , but I’ve attached some pictures of my past snakes , I’ve kept reptiles for over 20 years. Now onto the actual build
Thanks for the warm welcome! The black one was a baby Mexican black kingsnake they are gorgeous. Oh ye my fiancé regrets getting me into fish ;Hilarious once I got saltwater that was itWelcome! love the snakes specially the black one, I basically started reefing the same way... have had fresh water for 15 years, always wanted salt but was honestly too scared to do it, Fiancée and friend convinced me to give it a try, now I'm consolidating fresh water tanks for more salt water room
For real that snake looks amazing! lol I used to go to the fish store and spend $40 on a fish and that was it, now its 200-300 every single trip and I don't regret it!, the only fresh water fish I've kept are my flowerhorns because I've had them since basically hatchlings and they're absolutely massive now.. ugly fish but I have a soft spot for themThanks for the warm welcome!
