From snakes to fish

oh man I love Orandas!, im getting to that point now, have a Nero 3 and a Freshwater AI prime 16 I want to sell so I can get a radion xr15 for my newest project and it wont hurt as much lol
Ye lights can be expensive ! Also if you don’t already have I would recommend a Kasa smart power strip, I use it to control my lights because they are orphek or3 and don’t have an app/control. But you can use for many things and can control from phone

Found out I apparently have baby bubble tips , so far I’ve found 2 you can see one next to this bubble tip. I’m not sure if one split a bunch or the spawning event actually made babies

Alk 9.2 , phosphate .18 , nitrate 20-40ppm , ph 8.2

just turned on gfo again until drops below .1

If you can get a better pic of the mantis, it’ll be easier to id him! Where are you located? I would gladly take him if you don’t want to keep him!
Haha I would gladly give , he’s hard to take a pic due to being in his burrow most of the time I just know the mantis is all red and already bigger than my fish ;Bucktooth I’m located near Route 66 lol Ontario

I’ve seen him steal mysis from my anemones lol should I lure out with krill to snap a pic?

Shoot I’m in Sacramento. I’d pay for shipping if it’s not too much and you’re willing to send him :)

Measured again / alk 9.6 , phosphate .09 , nitrate 40ppm - skimmer lost syphon so wasn’t skimming that much so fixed that , also noticed 100s of pineapple sponges inside it lol took out 2 soft ball sized clumps of caulerpa in sump - id like it to be chaeto dominant

Also put a sick anemone I have in the sump to see if it would help - it’s pod heaven and very low flow and high ph so I’m hoping the nem will recover it’s tentacles

Awesome mantis shrimp!!
I also had one hitchhike from Gulf Live Rock. IMG_8140.jpg
I just found him after being in the tank for 6-7 months.
From some quick research today, I found this link.
https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthropoda/crustacea/malacostraca/eumalacostraca/royslist/index.html

Seems the Neogonodactylus is a popular hitchhiker from Florida live rock shippers.
I believe mine to be a Neogonodactylus wennerae
Yours looks similar to Neogonodactylus curacaoensis

@Hadla seems super knowledgeable when it comes to these neat shrimp.

Refugiums are great! Look at this chaeto , took two weeks to completely fill it , will take most of it to lfs for a little bit of credit and start the process anew

This build is only a year and half, and this the results ? The full tank shot makes me jealous! Congrats on the hard work. As for the bivalves I have one similar to lower right I think I am seeing? For over 5 years. I have no clue what it is, after countless searches. Kind of a toothy little thing?

There are two on the left , one under the Xenia and one fell off the rock into the sand. And thanks man! Much appreciated I still have a long way to go , the quick way to fill a tank is with pest corals! The good news is that at this point the tank takes care of itself , mostly all my corals are trades from other reefers plus with Xenia growing so fast lfs gives me credit of 5$ a frag (sells for 20) so I’m able to get more frags
