it’s been practically a week since i first brought my first corals and one week after the favia looks happy but the hammer doesn’t seems to, is it dying ? i’ve seen on this forum few people mention skin receding! is it the case here ? (mention the picture are taken at night)

when i’m coming home from work it’s almost closed and when i’m leaving home it’s still awaking so i’ll see tomorrow in the daytime but i worry about it not being in good conditions or being fated to death

Misleading title!
I was expecting to see a "nutrient abundant" guy with a neck beard playing Genshin Impact.
I was thinking it’s a special name for a coral, or a “gamer” who is struggling with a reed tank so he/she feels like they are “dying”

Are you using api kits to test nitrates?
No, I’m not. I’m actually using Tropic Marin, but in my opinion, nitrate levels can’t be accurately quantified in specific steps, as these tests tend to suggest. Instead, it's more about interpreting a range. For example, if the test color falls between two steps, like 15 ppm and 30 ppm (with those rather large intervals), I usually estimate my result as the middle value. Additionally, I have to adjust for NO2 readings. So, say I get a reading of 0.2 ppm NO2 and my NO3 result falls between 15 ppm and 30 ppm; I’ll assume the higher value for NO3. I then adjust with the chart and cut it in half. This way, if my base reading is 15 ppm, the adjusted value is 5 ppm (which is ideal). If the base is 30 ppm, I end up with 20 ppm, which is significantly different. So, I take an average of the adjusted values. this is why i have 12.5ppm with tropic marin

IMO titration kits (aquaforest) are better and more understandable than color charts (tropic marin, salifert, redsea etc)
