Gorgeous Tank!! I love the way you explained every step, and showed us pics!!

Thanks. It's only 8 months old so definitely still has a lot of growing to do but I'm finally at a point where I feel like I could share. I wanted to share as much detail as possible because this is my first tank and when I was trying to research the BC a lot of the info is outdated or very vague. I'll have a 125g build posted in a few months also just letting it get more established and growing before I share.

New additions: orange/green palys/zoas mixed and magician Hawaiian palys

And frags deplugged/trimmed and mounted in place...

Awesome tank! I love zoas and palys too, I think they fit in with every reef, and always grow very quickly.

Congrats Dad!

I've gotten several recommendations to buy the intank media basket. Do you think it was worth the extra mo ey? I am having a hard time understanding the advantage. The stock shelves hold my bags of media fine and the water flow seems to be forced through.

I don't know if it's worth the extra money for someone on a budget, because the stock one can work just fine. BUT with that said would I buy it over again...yes! I do like the height difference and having adjustable shelf heights for different media. And the water director piece ensures that all the water flows thru the floss and the media.

Where I "wasted money" was bought powerheads. You don't really need them if you're not doing SPS. Just an upgraded pump to increase your flow and that's it.

Little update.

Had some Zoas disappearing due to amphipods I believe. I dosed so interceptor which wipes most out but not and and I believe the disappearing has stopped. Not quite sure tho.

On the bright side clowns finally found their home.

Beautiful tank! How do you like the random flow generator? I'm thinking about getting one, worth the money?
