Gave it a go at DIY stand. Need help.

Did you check the Tank to see if it’s perfectly flat. I’ve seen plenty of the Mass Produced, Commonly availability tanks that don’t have flat plastic rims. Both the top and bottom of the rim.
What is someone to do in that case? Just go with foam or will it level as its filled, especially on larger tanks.
 
Back when Glass Aquariums only came with Plastic Rims, we did a Nickel test on them. If the nickel easily slid under the high part we shimmed them with Toilet Shims. Is your tank 20” or less in Width? Walmart has this ”Easyliner,” in the Household section, that you could use.
