I get good flow. Tried verticle, then horizonally. Now I have the at more of a 45 degree. 100% Gyre at 6 seconds ramp up/down. I did see some maxspect 250's in action....wow! But...$$$...

$170 on BRS, not too bad. You have the 3k Icecaps right? They noisy?

Ehh, somewhat at a 100%, they seemed to have gotten quiter since I first installed them. But you have to remember on Gyre they ramp up to 100% then stop and reverse to 100%. They don't bother me at all. My wife hasn't complained yet and she can hear exceptionally well.

My wife hasn't complained yet and she can hear exceptionally well- Cant they all?

The Maxspect 250s are sold out everywhere. I wonder why. I will probable get 1 gyre for now and see how I like it.

From what I seen the maxspects flow seemed to have dominated the 3k. But that was the only time I seen them in action. He pulled out his 3ks to try them, he said it seems like they kickout as much at 60% then what the Icecap seems to do at 100%. Remember that's what he said, not personal experience on my part. But I can verify he was getting some crazy good flow.

I’ve owned gyre xf250’s and they had a really irritatingly loud whine to them, not to mention one of the pump motor blocks burning out within two months. I would like to get back into the gyre game and have been looking at the icecap 3k and jebao gyres but I’m not sure they’ll be any different when it comes to noisy. I certainly wouldn’t take the chance on the new maxspects just because of the price. I got burned once and I won’t get burned again.

Ya, there is no way I am spending the money for 2 new Maxspects. Thats outrageous.

Ive thought about it, but for $25 more I can get the Icecap 3k
Agree'd. Im thinking about doing the same thing, mainly because i think the icecaps have better options in terms of slave and master option

CAUTION PHOTO DUMP!

Tank has been doing well the last few weeks, algea has subsided more since I have upped feeding. Still a little frustrated with the active ness of my fish. The only one that’s really out and about all day is the female clown who is going into an acclimation box this weekend to see if she will chill out. She won’t let the male out of the rockwork. If she doesn’t chill out she is getting traded in. The royal gramma pretty much just chills in his spot and the foxface just hangs out in the rockwork. Trying to decide on the next fish to up the activeness.

Coral has been doing great. My stellar stylist is growing like crazy, the purple style is making a comeback, looked terrible when I got it from the LFS. The acans have sprouted lots of babies. Everything else is growing really well.

Me too! My purple does not have that rich color. I'm not gonna lie, jealous.
I was surprised too, it was small when I bought it and almost looked black under the blues at my LFS. He just had some indo blue ones, but they sold out fast. I would really like to get an orange or peach one next.

I recently saw an orange one that would look great with those.

They usually come with a high price tag, I will snatch one up probably the next time I see it but they seem to be far and few between.
