I took 3 photos of a hammer coral when I got home from the meeting. First photo is no filter.

Second is with lighter orange filter

Final is with the lighter blue filter

The camera on my note 5 was set to macro, cloudy white balance and the rest was auto.

just got my set of cheapie photo gels from Mshort...they work pretty well. Still figuring out which is the best for what time of day, but they make a world of difference. heres a few shots, a full tank shot w/o filter and with a couple filters and a shot of my gold torch.

I decided to try to take some actinic pic of some of my coral. I though it would be pretty simple but I was surprised at how bad they came out. I did some reading on gel filters not only for the lens but also for the flash. I haven't had time to really work with them like I want to but I see how they can be a big help.

Anyone have any advise for taking actinic pics?

Nikon D40 w/105 macro lens. Raw w/ pp in GIMP.
