Can I add 3 tangs??
I have a 125g fowlr with 2 blue tangs, 1 purple tang, 1 fox face, 3 damsels, 2 clownfish. 1 bicolor angel along with general clean up crew and a long tentacle anemone. I have the chance to purchase a gem, yellow and purple tang for a steal, it’s ridiculously cheap the guy needs them gone. Would that be way too much for my tank? I also have a redsea reefer 250 I could put 1 in I guess? IDK. Any advice is welcome

I don't think this is an actual emergency..
I do think that 6 tangs in a 125 is probably too many. I also think there could be aggression by adding 3 more zebrasomas with the existing one.
All this s true, but if you dream of a gem (like I do) then get the tangs and consider removing some of the others to keep peace and health in your tiny tank (compared to an ocean. )

I have not had a gem, but I understand that many of that kind are not nice to tank mates

Sorry I didn’t mention he gave me a 12 hour window before he was gonna offer it up to another person who he knows has an interest in them. So not an emergency just me panicking and wondering if it’s a possibility.

How did this turn out?

I actually like your use of the emergency tag when you need advice for making a time limited decision on a livestock option.

Either path you chose, a situation status update could be beneficial for the community in this case. :thinking-face:

However — “A Boy Who Cried Wolf” is childish to say the least. It would be interesting to see another cried emergency when the tangs got ich/velvet?

OP: just buy them! If that’s what you really wanted, you’ve already answered your question and resolved your “emergency”. You don’t need to justify to your spouse that “..the R2R community agreed with me”.

My spouse would disagree in a terrible manor if she were to get wind of this conversation.

She has more fury than any tang or female clownfish depending their home turf:face-with-tears-of-joy::flushed-face:

And the OP has just replied that they have a Gem .

Congratulations on this.

let us know how the purple & gem work out for you in the coming days.
