getting a new one

so around mid december my female clownfish died she jumped out of the tank, and it been just abou 4 weeks, if i do get a new one how would i and how many? Would i just get one thats smaller than the one in right now?

Yes, much smaller if possible. May help to keep the new one in an isolation box for a couple days as well.

I dont have an isolation box, im going to fish store later and if they have he fluval hob where it outside the tank is that ng? Or should i get one that goes inside the tank

I would get one for inside of tank. I made one from polycarbonate sheet and zip ties with lots of holes drilled in it.

How do i know if i can get an aneomone? I have a hitchiker anemone i belive glass something its semi small maybe a little under 1" the middle part its doing good and ive had the tank since july. And can i get more than 1?

A good rule of thumb is to not get an anemone until the tank has been running for at least six months. They need very stable conditions and new tanks are usually not very stable. Especially if you did not start the tank with real live rock.

Sounds like you might be describing aptasia when talking about the glass anemone. This is very common and you do NOT want these in your tank. Talk to your lfs about this as well. They should be able to give you guidance on getting rid of it if it is a pest anemone. Take pictures under white lights and post them here and/or show them to your lfs.

I don’t know much about aneomones as I have not had one. The picture you posted doesn’t look like aiptasia but I could be wrong. Maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in.

That kind of looks like a large aiptasia to me. Look closely at the rest of your tank. Do you see any smaller ones popping up anywhere? One that is that large would definitely be spitting out some larva at this point.

There was a tiny clear one more like what I think when I think aiptasau but I haven’t seen it it disappeared

Odd numbers best so get two and isolate female or existing in a holding box or sump for at least a week to allow other clowns to settle in and get acquainted with tank

The lfs lady said it’s difficult and sometimes not work out for getting a new, although she mentioned getting more than just the +1

Its hit and miss as clowns can be dominant

Anyone know how long it takes for them to wake up? Last night she went under sand and it’s been about an hour since. Turned on lights, although I don’t think the store opens for another 2 hours so maybe she’s used to that
