Getting away with just a random flow generator

I have a water box 20 cube negative space rock structure without it touching the glass so allowing good flow, and I have a random flow generator. I have an AI Nero 3 unopened which I'm debating returning because I think I could just get away with a random flow generator. Y'all think I'm set or should I return it and get a dual random flow generator? Or just use my AI Nero 3?

Btw I am only planning on keeping softies and LPS

I think you'd be just fine with the random flow nozzle. Just crank up the return pump a bit so there is not detritus settling anywhere. Does everything look happy and healthy?

Tanks only 1 month old. Zoas look fine lol

For a new tank, RFG is likely fine. once you start getting a lot more coral growth, that is likely to change though, and you will need more to keep from getting dead spots. I personally like to have multiple sources of flow, turned lower vs one turned higher. you get more random flow and don't blast anything too hard.

Yeah I know it can be a problem once corals start to grow in. But the only corals I want are Zoas, acans, hammers, a plate coral, Duncan, candy cane, mushrooms. That about it. You think I would have a problem with those corals blocking flow down the road?

Acans, zoas, generally will not restrict flow as they grow out rather than up, but duncans, hammers and candycanes will branch and create flow obstructions over time. Plates can also restrict flow as they grow, depending on where they are placed.

you think a duel random flow generator would be enough? Or would I just need a wave maker?

Yes :) they get very big and branchy and can block a ton of flow.
