Getting back in the game- 50 SCA SPS Build

I’ve been laying low for the last five years or so and had a SCA 50 sitting in the garage and I got the itch to get back into the hobby. The plan will be 100% SPS, but not going to rush it, as it’s only been up and running just shy of three months. I certainly miss having a larger tank, but travel a lot for work and need something easier to keep up with.

I look forward to updating along the way.

Big shout out to Luca @Lousybreed for answering all the questions that I had about his lights. Very excited to get these Meso Blue Pro's mounted later tonight.

I was able to get the Quanta Pro's mounted last night. With some washers and slightly larger screws, they attached to the ATI without issue. The color that they put off is really nice and can't wait to get some sticks in the tank!

I've been doing a lot of reading over the past few weeks about folks having trouble keeping SPS in tanks started from all dry rock, so after some research and emails with Tampa Bay Saltwater @LiverockRocks, I ordered their 8lb Rubble Rox deal earlier this week.

The customer service was fantastic to say the least and after an hour drive to pick up, got it home and inspected it very closely and I didn't find any bad hitchhikers. I also put it in my sump and foam installed before return just to be safe. After getting my hands on their rock, I really wish that I started the whole tank with it. For now, a perfect fit in my sump to help things along.

Nothing major, but small update.

Went ahead and picked up another box of Rubble yesterday from TBS. All fish besides the clowns came in from Dr. Reef and have settled in and started eating right away. I also added some temporary 1/8 netting to the lid until the goby gets a little bigger. I was a little worried the 1/4 wasn't going to do the trick.

Just going to play the waiting game now and see how things are a few months from now.
