Hi I have been keeping freshwater fish for over 40 years, about 30 years ago I did try a fowlr and failed miserably as there wasn't the wealth of information at our fingertips back then. Then about 20 years ago I did setup and maintain a 7 gallon nano reef, then my mated pair of banded coral shrimp died after 10 years and I decided I didn't want to keep the tank any longer. But, lately I have really been wanting to give it a try again, so my wife got me a Waterbox 20 aio for Father's day. Now the fun part of figuring out lighting(my 7 gallon had compact fluorescent lighting), I am looking at either an AI Prime 16HD or 2 AI Blade Grow lights.

Welcome to the community and what an awesome father's day present! You can't go wrong with either light imho, but I guess it would come down to what you want to do with your new tank? Do you want to do a mixed reef, are you more fascinated by softies and lps or do you want to go the SPS route? I think knowing that will help you be able to determine which light would be better 😁

I am just planning on softies and LPS, but I may consider one of the easy SPS if I have a high par area.
