I got 20gals of ocean water yesterday on fishing trip. Have them in my room next to heater to warm up to desired temp also while air rating. This is for tank in my room I did downstairs one last week. Can’t wait to get my bigger one going so I don’t have to do this much work all time even though i don’t mind taking care of my little buddies.
Notice how crystal clear the water is
The glass has water from the bucket in it

Looks like nice clean water. Do you filter it at all? I've seen the bugs that come out in micron filters, crazy how much life is in just a few gallons.
Honestly I don’t filter but have my own silly method. I have a lg flat spoon with long Handel I swirl the water in the bucket real fast making a fast whirlpool this makes all the junk settle on bottom of bucket in a ball n I have a net I use to scoop it out. Told you it was silly. Oh and I change filter in back at time of change and again next day. I go thru a lot of filters

One of those hang on back of tank filters. Everything I have is off Walmart shelf nothing fancy
I’m not sure really which you are referring to but you could potentially look into substituting filters for some poly-fil. It’s also Available at Walmart really cheap and I feel it does a good job at polishing the water! Unsure if it will work in your setup tho..
