So I've got a Waterbox Infinia 150.4 (100gal display) on the way (probably a couple months out still by the sound of it), for my first salt water tank, which I'm planning to be a mixed reef system, where I'd like to focus on having a solid ecosystem/food web.

warning: I may say stupid stuff here. I don't know what I'm talking about. All opinions/advice/correction welcome!

Planning for mixed corals, 8-10 fish, a wide variety of inverts, and maybe a BTA.

Fish I am considering (in phases)
Ocellaris clownfish (pair)
Yellow watchman goby / Tiger pistol shrimp
Tomini bristletooth tang
Kole bristletooth tang (alt to Tomini)
Royal gramma
Tailspot blenny
Banggai cardinalfish
Chalk bass
Pink-streaked wrasse
Court jester (Rainford’s) goby
Mandarin dragonet (once pods abundant)
Yellow wrasse
Lawnmower blenny (only if algae still abundant)
Flame hawkfish
Longnose hawkfish
Flame angelfish

For inverts, basic clean up crew of snails/crabs, but also wanting some shrimp, urchin, conch, clam eventually.

I've got my dry rock, 114 lbs of marco rock of all type. Could use input on aquascape. I've cemented 3 large pieces but still have some smaller ones i'm working on and little bits to add. want to make sure everyone has a home.

Also I have been thinking a lot about the sump. I like the idea of (at least usually) running no socks/roller mat and relying on critters, sponges, etc to do biological filtering. I am going to use the sock chamber as a cryptic area, seed it with some TBS rocks and hopefully get some sponges and stuff growing well there. One question I have, I've been using chatgpt for questions (with great skepticism of course) and it's telling me that cryptic zones need to be pitch black. I can attempt to mostly black out the chamber, but i'm skepetical if that's true. if i put a big shelf rock in there on top of rubble, it's going to be too dark for algae, and sponges can thrive, yeah? I also am going to leave room for 1 sock for occasional filtering as needed. On the waterbox sump, i have no idea why the skimmer chamber is so much bigger than the refugium chamber, so i was going to get some of the guides they have for the divider and make a 3rd position for a bigger algae fuge. put a good bit of reefsaver in there and try to have a really healthy copepod factory to help feed stuff.
Anyway, appreciate any thoughts anyone has! Also, new to the forums so i thought this was the right place to post, not quite ready for a build thread yet?

also a youtube video of the scape because photos can be hard:

Do you have an idea of what corals you want to put in their first?

Nope! There has been so much to research I have put that off until later, I'm just trying to research the upcoming decision points in order, and that one is months off. But I am trying to create the aquascape in such a way that I hope to have spots for a little bit of everything. Sometimes when i am overwhelmed with options I like forcing my own hand by making a decision and seeing what options are left. So with the aquascape I am mostly focusing on fish habitat and aesthetics, and then once i research coral more I'll see what I am able to do. Good news is with a 48x25 layout I should be able to do -something-

If you have wrasses, your pod population will not be good. They hunt all day long.
Even if I have a good size refugium, and try to design the aquascape with plenty of crannies?
The wrasses I was considering were pink-streaked (Pseudocheilinops ataenia) and Yellow (Halichoeres chrysus). but I am prioritizing the dragonet above both of those. You think I need to cut 1 or 2? (I have to cut some fish from my list anyway, trying to go from a list of 18 down to 8-10.) I am not sure if I left enough open sand so far for a yellow wrasse anyway, and i am not sure if having one is worth making my sand bed deeper. (i don't the pistol shrimp+goby will be fine with ~2 inches?)

did you get divider guides? Where and how did that go? I just pulled the trigger on this same tank and I'd like to do the same.
