my last month’s ICP showed my nutrients were way way up. .33 on PO4. But my tank looked fine. So I eased my way into exporting with Rowaphos and some phosphateRX.

I was concerned I would strip a lot out using Rowa, so I used a lot less and changed it weekly. I didn’t realize I should test the output of my reactor. If PO4 = 0 leave it. So, last night I checked it and it was running 0.12 on my output of my reactor, it’s only been in the reactor for 4 days. It’s not tumbling though. This morning my tank tested .09 for PO4.

Attached is my ICP that I just got back. I do Moonshine, but frankly, I’m not super sure if I really am. Here is why-

For trace:
I dose 25 mil of A and K a day. I do 80mil of fluoride and 4 mil of manganese a day

I use my ICP and the tool to come up with the fluoride and the manganese. For fluoride I take what I am dosing daily and add my correction amount divided by 30 to my daily dose. Same for manganese.

This month I have to do corrections for rubidium, bromide and zinc (I think that is it). So why I think I really don’t do RM is, when it comes to the daily’s. I get I have to correct and lift some levels. But, my daily’s, to me, don’t make sense. I have roughly 500g. All my daily’s are 1 drop, one is 1/2 a drop. Makes me feel like it’s a rounding situation in the RM formula. Like, they tell you to do something so you think you’re doing something. But, that’s like the equivalent of adding 1 grain of rice to a quart of chicken fried rice. (Yumm). On paper it looks like my daily dose of A&K is pretty close. Periodically I can run an ICP and just lift my levels as needed and skip the daily’s?

Last question. I run carbon. I just started running ROX, I read up on CAC. Does ROX and GAC strip trace? While CAC doesn’t?

By the way, before any creeps start flirting with me, my wife registered my ICP way back. Last time I posted my ICP I wondered why I had a lot of extra helping hands in my box (better mine then hers), lol!

.33 looked no different then this

Tank under full spectrum, it’s about 850-900 par on the tops of a lot of those rocks.
