Only option is to either buy another hydrometer, or invest in a refractometer or a Hanna meter.I have a Corallife hydrometer
That's Canadian prices, half price in the USA and big sales on nowMaybe ill just get a refractometer, that Hanna checker is a little more than I want to spend
Love the long spined urchins, I had 2 a long while back and they are great for GHA, but will destroy everything in its path if you're not careful lolTurbo snails and a longspine urchin keep mine clean. Pincushions never did much and I couldn't keep one alive more than a few weeks. But the longspine isn't completely reef safe. He'll eat clove polyps, GSP and montipora too. I keep him well fed with nori sheets to keep him off the corals.
As stated, you'll have to remove the long stuff by hand, they won't touch it. But once you get it short, they'll scrub it clean right down to the rock
Tuxedo urchin eats nothing but algae, will even scrape rocks if none is available.I got some expensive palys (Hyper Jubilees) that I dont want to loose
I might get another pincushion if i get another urchin
2nd on the Hanna salinity tester, I have it and love it, just needs to be calibrated regularly.Tuxedo urchin eats nothing but algae, will even scrape rocks if none is available.
