I'm officially sold thanks to the 'Switching Controllers'. I wish you guys had an affiliate link because Ditto is a great salesman.

Here is what I want to do
Manage ATO -
2 level switches

Manage ATO container -
2 level switches
1 1\4 solenoid

Manage 2 1-10v LED pwr supplies
1 - moonlight

What components would be required? cables, etc...

No special cables required just the level switches and 110v solenoids as they would be switched by the power bar.
For the 1-10v led control you can find the required components on the site.

Splitter Cable for Level Sensors
This is good for both switches.

Then use the Levels sensor bracket to hold the sensor
The rod is handy to but you might need to get a really long piece for water container depending on size.

I use the float level probe

A PLM-4Level card will add 4 more level probes or flow control inputs

I don't do fancy lighting just MH and reefbrites.:)

GHL does not sell 1/4” solenoids you can find them easily though for a 120 volt outlet on eBay or amazon. :)

Has anyone screwed an optical sensor through the side of a container, with a bulkhead or something else?

I don’t think they make bulkhead fittings that small, but from my experience having an adjustable switch position is better for fine tuning and to be able to adjust for any future changes.

This is mine, the supplied magnets are plenty strong but just for my reassurance ( I like to over design stuff) I put another magnet on the opposite end.

Coming to think of it this is how I mounted my float valve which only required installing a properly sized rubber (or other similar material) gasket on the wet side.
