It took us a couple of hours to add the rock and sand. I tried to create lots of caves and ledges for the fish to enjoy while leaving enough space for corals.

There is approximately 150lb of rock/shelf and 200lb of sand. We started filling with RO/DI tonight and I will update with more photos once its complete and the glass is cleaned.

Love the scape. I'm setting my S-1000 up over the next few weeks after we move... I can't decide on rock either, such a tough decision lol.

Really nice job on the rock work. That looks amazing. Not often a tank looks that good without any corals yet! I so want to upgrade my 425xl to the s-1000. Can you convince my wife for me?

Got started on filling the tank tonight. Went old school with 5g buckets and cups. It's been about five years since I did this on our old tank and said never doing this again... yea I did it again.

New tank chaos.

About 20 buckets in.

We were able to get about 100g transferred before we ran out of water. Making more overnight to hopefully finish up tomorrow. We also added two MP40s to get the water moving. I was nervous about how well they would stick on 3/4" glass but so far so good. No loud thuds yet.

Thanks a lot! We really appreciate the kind words!

I can try but I don't think I will succeed lol. I lucked out mine actually wants this tank more than I do. Good news for me I can try and guilt my way into news wheels for my truck!

Still working on filling! Got all the rocks covered now at least. Probably another 100g to go including sump and overflow.

Got a Vectra L2 ordered and on the way for the return. I'm hoping it gets here for this weekend.

Got the L2 today. Still working on filling the tank.. been busy so it's going slower than anticipated. I'm still hoping to get the sump up and running this weekend.

They always look so nice brand new.

Love the thread so far and the scape looks awesome! I just got my S1000 up and running myself so it has been awesome to see how other people are setting theirs up. Can't wait to see yours unfold!

Great build!
I also had the same experience with the Real Reef Rock, I ordered the XL box and got a box of dry rubble with 2 pieces that where the size of softballs. It felt like it’d been sitting in a warehouse for a while to be gone dry and the rocks just crumbled as I picked them up.

Here is a review I left on BRS, I dunno if they made it public or not.

Been picking up some new equipment this week while the Black Friday sales are going on and thought I would try out the Adaptive Reef Controller Cabinet.

It took less than five minutes to put together and I'm pretty happy with the result. A hinged door would have been a must if I was accessing the inside often but my primary goal was to hide and protect some of the wires and power bricks.

FTS from today. Still working on adding pieces online. For lights we went with 3 Kessil AP9X fixtures with single mounting arms. We have also started transfering over some of our fish from the previous tank. So far so good!

How do you like the lights? I'm very new to the hobby and just found out about these lights last night ... I was thinking about running the same setup over my current XR30 and XR15 as my current setup might not be enough for the tank.. 2 xr30 and 2 xr15 sell those and get these haha...

Really like the Kessil lights. I use to run the AP700s on my old tank and the app was a deal breaker. The new app is much better but not as hands on as the radions. Love the shimmer and color Kessil produces.
