You got some great colonies there! 3 daughters, lol. Being the only boy in the house must get to you sometimes. I was brought up with three sisters and it was not fun, I tell you :)

Frank, that is so ny... They do have a big brother and he has a tough time sometimes with them!

Hello, I’m in the process of upgrading from a 120 gallon acro and chalice dominant tank to a 200 gallon aquarium with a larger footprint. So, standard 120 gallon, 2’x4’ is 8 sq/ft… I know simple math. Haha. The new 200 gallon tank is pretty shallow and has a 20 sq/ft footprint. So, it’s shallow, at 18” tall but the waterline will reduce it to about 16” total. Since I really like tableing acropora,! I’m hoping it looks great in a couple years. I just finished drilling a couple holes in the tank, painting the background, and now working on the plumbing

Also built this stand, based off a 40 gallon tank stand model sitting in my garage

Here’s where I drilled out a couple holes for the overflow box, and then plumbed the back of the tank

It’s been five months since I’ve plumbed and started up the tank. Shortly after doing a water leak test, I got it running and built a canopy (didn’t paint or build the doors yet). I’m thinking that pretty stuff can wait; let’s just get my rock and coral transferred over from my old 120 gallon tank.

In these photos, just wanted to highlight there’s eight Radion G4s over the tank. So, my aim is to eliminate shadows as much as possible. I don’t have them turned up that much, maybe about 55% at max output.

Center overflow box I got a few years back from a tank manufacturer here in Florida (forget the name of the company). The box had been sitting around the garage and wasn’t sure if I was going to use it until recently. Has three 1” downspouts, one is used as an emergency overflow line; the other two are tuned in for quiet flow. So one overflow pipe has a gate valve to fill the water in it completely, while one carries the remaining water down.

Water drain pipes go into a small box in the corner of a forty gallon sump. Then I have a chamber for Chaeto with a cheap red led light, runs 24-7, and the macroalgae grows like crazy

Here’s the other side of my sump, with a old Reef Octopus skimmer that works fantastic still. Sometimes I’m worried it might be skimming too much . There’s a Sicce 3.0 return pump, but I plan to eventually run two of them, one for each Return pipe (3/4” lines).

My less than organized dosing station next to the sump. Dosing ESV 2-Part, which also contains all the minor trace elements. Also dosing Kalk. Using an old AquaMedic 4-head doser.

It’s a work in progress still. This is the left side, so four feet of tank here. The rockwork is incomplete, all the acropora frags are on egg crate on the right side. No doubt, I have a couple months before I get it all looking good, but I will send some pics of the right side later on
