Newly acquired Gig. It’s a stunning little specimen, super stoked to have this color again. One of, if not my all time favorite tank inhabitant and possibly the hardest to obtain.

Still can’t get over this one. Something about a blue gig that’s just mesmerizing to watch. Settling in nicely, this is my first time keeping Gigantea under LED and so far it seems fine

Have not come close to such colors locally! And since I have BTA’s mixing one of these would not be a good idea. But nice one for sure!!!

I see that you're in Sac. Have you been to Splash Aquarium? They get gigs from time to time. I picked up a green one about a year ago. They also had a purple one at that time, but I opted for only the green one.

Gigs are totally fine with BTAs. I have three gigs, two magnifica, and three CSBs all in the same tank and don't have any issues.

Yes I run by all the shops once every few weeks or months. But aquarium depot, and aqua life are the regulars I go to. I get deals from both at times. And any little bit helps to save a buck for other expensive hobbies I have! Haha. I’ll check in with splash now that I know they get them.

They told me one time that, after I asked them how much for a 12” CSB, the laughed in my face telling me I can’t afford it. I could probably buy half the store if need be haha.

The things I see in nature and what camera capture vs what I see is never the same. And it’s the same here in the reef world! Haha. My Sherman never looks quite like it does in person but I try to get close.

Anything blue is always extremely hard to get color accurate photos. It's one of those colors that just glows under a natural sunlight spectrum. I run pretty warm but the LEDs just mess with the camera can never really get a true to life pic

Noticed my clowns have discovered the Gig and have been bouncing back and forth between it and the mertensii. The gig does not seem to be very fond of them and has been a bit retracted past day or so. Noticed today I could see one of its siphonoglyph showing after the clown had been nestled into it, not showing any other signs of stress
