Glass is Bending?

Hey all,
I have a 4ft long Aqua One Minireef 215 I got second hand off facebook marketplace. I bought it around a month ago I think and I’ve just noticed that the front glass seems to be bowing because of the water weight. Is this bad? I can’t afford another tank right now and especially cannot lose my fish. Will it be okay?

My guess is: If that glass panel was gonna break it would have happened all ready. Looks like the tank has no top cross bracing. This might have helped with the bowing but maybe not. Because commercial tanks are made with thinner glass than something custom made, a lot of them bend. Acrylic being the worst. Unless you see some seam issue I would not worry too much.

Do you have a long level or straight edge you can put against it to see if it really is bowing?

Pretty common for most tanks to bow a little, especially if they dont have eurobracing.

I used to have a 4 foot aquaone tank and it bowed, even with bracing.

All rimless tanks bow slightly IME. It is normal and expected but still unsettling

I pray we see the day where rimless tanks aren’t even offered any longer

I dont really understand the push for Rimless with Saltwater.

Its a planted tank thing - so plants and driftwood can be extended to outside the tank.

They look cool, but a well made braced tank does also!

There is no doubt that a rimless tank is much better looking and sleeker than the black trim and oak trim tanks. But like you said, a properly designed Eurobrace tank looks just as good with way better structure

I don’t love my rimless NYOS but it was such a good deal
