Glass Thickness

So I am planning a long term project to build a plywood tank. The tank will have two viewing windows on the front and back, but the sides and frame will obviously be wood. The entire tank measurements will be:

84" x 25" x 38"

Bring in the tank to approximately 345g.

So I am estimating that the glass panels will be 80" x 34". This will give me two inches of over hang on all edges to secure it to the inside of the tank, as well as creating an interior frame using 1 x 1 for the glass to set in.

I plan on building the entire build in a three piece setup that comes together to look like a wall in my house. A stand, the tank, and a cover that goes all the way to the ceiling with cabinetry built in.

My I my question is how thick should the glass be for the viewing panels? I plan on having a modifies euro brace on the top, with an added vertical brace in the center.

Any thoughts on the build would also be welcome.

There are several glass thickness calculators on line. The one I checked assumed regular float glass at .940944912" or about 1" thick.

I think 3/4" non tempered would serve the purpose... Just don't flush the glass tight to the plywood wall make sure you leave a gap of 1 mm atleast for the caulk.. Use good silicone Scs 1200. Good luck. I have started a thread regarding glass builds. You can drop in your queries...
