Echinophillia Echinata and Lord of the Rings

Both corals are at low ligth conditions because the Reeftop is getting crowded and is taking away al light. it's due time to do some cuttng.
T5 bulbs are now 6-7 months old and it's time for replacement. I wil start doing that gradually in de weeks to come.

This is the back/shadow side of my tank. The rocks/corals were placed at 2/3 from the front.
It was never my intention to place sps in the back of the tank, but when the front started to get packed with corals , i gradually place some in the back.

in the wild everything grows over each other... here it's the same
in intervene as less as possible in my tank
i will only intervene if one specie will be lost due to an invasive specie
By observing and pushing the limit, i learn more about coral behaviour.

i always wonder why this seriatopora hystrix won't turn pink, until i got a real pink one which stayed pink. it seems this is a red/purple version.

Although it's now standing in the shadow of the big staghorn colony.i don't think it will ever turn pink.
very soon I will be replacing my bulbs and will do some experimenting with different colors tubes.

I was told by a scientist they need lots of Phyto/Zoo plankton, especially rotifiers seems to benefit their long term survival.
i do none of them, but i feed a lot deepfreeze mixed with sps food. With that i manage to keep them alive for 10 months before.
i do plan to find a source for both phyto and zoo plankton , because i am interested to keep more NPS animals
