I just purchased a diamond goby for my dt, but I placed him in my qt for now to make sure he’s not bringing any diseases with him. This is a bare bottom qt tank and I have heard that they get their food solely from the sand. I have some extra sand that I can add in, but it doesn’t have anything for the goby to eat. Should I just put him in my dt or wait because the last thing I want is for him to starve. Any suggestion?

I've quarantined multiple diamond gobies. I've never had an issue with them eating whatever was floating by. Sometimes I've put a little Tupperware container with sand in there just to make them feel more comfortable, but they always eat from the water column.

How long can a goby (gold head sleeper and watchman) be in a bare bottom qt? Nothing is wrong, just prophetically treating. Thank you.
