Picked up a Goldrim on Friday 11/26 from my lfs. Fish had been there for 2 weeks watched him eat every time I went in for other things. Brought him home and put him in the qt (it’s a 10 gal as I don’t have much room) I know this is small but have done other tangs in it. I have not seen him eat.

Over an hour acclimation
salinity is 28 ppt (1.019/.020)
Ph 8
Amm 0
Nitrite 0

I am running copper at a lower amount (1)

fish is super calm has all of his color and has nori available plus I’ve tried garlic soaked mysis and brine and formula 1

I have had fish go 48 hours before but starting to concern me a bit.

Why the low salinity? What was the salinity of the LFS water? How long have you had the tang? Could just be not eating due to nerves/stress.

I like running a little bit lower salinity in the QT as parasites don’t like the lower salinity. Plus the lfs keeps there’s around that.

How long is to long for not eating?

That level of salinity doesn't help eliminate parasites at all, just masks them temporarily. My Gold Rim did that for a few days but then got comfortable and ate everything I offered. He now eats bubble algae, GHA....if it's green he eats it. He also loves mysis, LRS Fish Frenzy and pretty much anything else I offer.

It’s just in the qt. Awesome so no concern as of yet is what I am gathering.
