Hey guys,

I have a 32 gallon biocube and recently made it an open top tank. The water evaporates crazy fast so I'll need to invest in an auto top off system fairly quickly. Just wanted to know what auto top offs you guys use, and if you'd recommend them for my cube.

Thanks, #reefsquad!!

(p.s I'm not trying to spend crazy money on this ato lol)

I'll be sure to look into it! Thank you!
Renee,
In the last few years all kinds of Nano ATO's have hit the market, but I'm an ole Tunze guy myself.
Got an old Tunze 3155 and it never missed a beat. Then, Tunze released the Nano.

I have 3 Tunze's (two 3152's on cycled QT's and a 3155 on my DT). I have never had them fail me. The one in my DT is 5 years old and the only thing that has every gone wrong is precipitation on the optic sensor from having my dosing pumps emptying too close to it. Fortunately the way it works that makes it think the tank is full and it doesn't add any water.

Tunze nano is a great ATO and how could you argue redundancy? ;) However, if it's out of your price range and you are frequently by your tank(as I am), the AutoAqua smart ATO micro is what I use and has been great so far. I also used the Hydor ATO in the past but failed at 6 months. Failure rate for the Hydor seems high from what i've read.

Thanks you guys for all the input! The tunze seems to be pretty popular and efficient so that’s probably be what I’ll go with!
I really appreciate the quick feedback and solid answers. Thank you!!!

Why are the auto reservoirs so expensive? Aren't they just contains to hold watero_O
