Good Idea to Put MarinePure in Downpipe Chamber?

I figured I’d put one of the big MarinePure blocks in the first chamber since there’s nothing there, it fits, it will give more room to the refugium chamber, and thinking any break-off will just go into a filter sock -yeah or is my logic flawed? -Thanks
