I wish R2R had some of the emoji's my work link has.

Holy Cow!
It’s frigid here and the flurries are flying. Gonna be in the teens tonite. We are bringing the first round of Snuggle Safe pads out to the girls at 7:30 and then I have an alarm set to get up and reheat them at 1:00am. Poor girls, it’s already down to 30* in the coop.
Maybe I’ll see Santa when I get up!

it was 50 here yesterday with those ripping winds from the south. what a tease. melted a lot of the ponds and opened up some ice on the lakes.
currently 23. hi tomorrow 25. so much for open water for the weekend duck hunt. guess I'll have to watch the fire in the CC live sale.
my neighbor has chickens. we can see the coop from our deck.
red heat lamp? or maybe they're sexy chickens advertising??

I think we’re going to stay below freezing all day tomorrow also. I’d like to use a heat lamp for the girls but the hen house is only powered by a 100’ extension cord plugged into a GFI on the outside of the house. Eventually, I’ll get real power out to the barn and hen house. We only run LED lights in the hen house and in the Summer, we run a couple of box fans for them. The heat lamp worries me. Fire????

At our old house we had traveling chickens. They would lay eggs in our ground cover. They came from our neighbors barn.
