Good Morning! It's a toast 13 this morning. We got about 4 inches of that white stuff last night. We are finally above average snowpack! The fishing just might be ok this coming summer. Now to just stop myself from buying that Fly Rod I have been needing. I mean wanting. Reefing is so much cheaper than fly fishing. Have a great day and stay safe!

It makes reefing hard to not have an LFS, but I have only spent 30 bucks on my tank over the last 3 months. I am about to spend 200 on salt, reagents, and food for the next 6 months. If I had an LFS I would probably spend that much every month if not more. That fish is gorgeous.

Yup! Tire pressure will drop 1 psi for every 10* drop in temp. Works the other way when it gets hot out.
As Mr Spock would say, “It’s Only Logical”. LOL!

Its so cold here (-24 right now) that we are getting warnings about underground thunder from ice cracking - Yikes

Gotta love the white stuff. Fortunately we are the downhill slope of winter! It will start magically disappearing very quickly in about 6 - 8 more weeks.

I didn’t have any frozen eggs today but when I cleaned the henhouse and scooped the poop this afternoon, the turds were frozen. Makes clean up easier.

Mine are too. I was able to bang the ones on the newspaper loose but rest are frozen.
Went out out 3pm to feed them and noticed their not eating much do to the cold and one of them knocked down the heat lamp and it left a char marked on their ladder. I think another hour or two and it may have burned down. . . just a guess

Scary stuff! When it’s cold like this, we change out their water a few times a day with hot water. They also get locked inside the top portion of the coop and we put in Snuggle Safe pads with them. The pads stay warm all night
The henhouse reads 30* but inside the coop with the pads is 46* right now.
Old chickens = VERY SPOILED!
