Good Morning. A little cool here today on Long Island but going down to 2 tonight with wind chills of 22 below zero so tomorrow's sunrise walk will be a little "interesting". :face-in-clouds:

Northern Illinois and northwest Indiana were walloped by one of the most powerful winter storms in history between Jan. 31 and Feb. 2, 2011. An initial period of light accumulating snow occurred from the evening of Jan. 31 into the morning of Feb. 1, including lake effect snowfall over northeastern Illinois. The most memorable period of the storm occurred from the afternoon of Feb. 1 through the early morning of Feb. 2, when a powerful area of low pressure tracked slowly north. During this time, the snowstorm was accompanied by fierce winds, gusting to 50 to 60 mph, and even higher at times. The intense winds and heavy snow reduced visibility to near zero at times and produced widespread snowdrifts of 2 to 5 feet, and a few drifts of 10 feet or more. The storm was powerful enough to generate vigorous updrafts, resulting in lightning, thunder, and small hail.

While the winds were not as high and visibility was not significantly reduced for as long a period of time, an eerily similar scenario played out exactly 4 years later in Chicago:

Good Morning. Going for my morning walk but the weatherman lied. It is 4 degrees here and he said it was going to be 2. Now I won't need my insulated socks and nose warmer. :anguished-face:

got notification yesterday we are supposed to return to the office three days a week starting the thirteenth.
return all company docking stations and monitors. :rolleyes:
advised to buy our own for the two days we work at home.:rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
they haven't given me an answer yet as to whether i'm exempt, being that i'm a contractor.
job shopping next week.

That's crazy! When I went part time, I was made part-time exempt. Ok, fine, works for me. If you're keeping me on salary, you don't get 1 second of overtime.

I only have 2 display tanks right now, so it will have to go into one. I am only putting in a few smaller rocks and some sand to increase the diversity. They are just 10 & 13 gallons, so if there is an issue and I see something bad I can remove all of the sand in about 10 min and put the coral in buckets. I am getting it from this place. They are about 20 min from my house.

@Just John ,sand is ok i'd think, may want to dip rock in 1.035 for a minute hypo bucket shake,save good critters,
then run in bucket with at very least air stone 24hrs.
i'm thinking hate to see you clouding or crashing DT ,believe rock is raw ,uncured.

I did a little investigating on my morning walk. I wanted to get into this old barn because no one lives here any longer but I think I still could have been shot so I didn't go inside. There was no sun so they are a little Blah.
The others were open.
