Good morning! Today is our dedicated Christmas celebration with the kids and grand kids. Don't have to share them with anyone else. We've been wrapping gifts all morning. May have to get a second tree. :oops: This is the day we look forward to all year.

Good morning! So put off the resin change until today and man, talk about a job where you become confident the universe is out to get you. I don't care what precautions I seem to take, 2ft x 2ft x 8 in deep work tray and still....little blue beads everywhere.

Did while my wife was out getting donuts (don't I have a great wife?)...anyhow first thing she say is "Man, does that stuff every stink!" (she didn't actually say "stuff"), followed by "whole house smells like it" and "wonder what makes that smell so bad?". At least I have DI water running in my storage tanks now. Plus donuts!

I have bought a lot of stuff from LA but the last 3 orders turned me off. Both what I received and how it was packed failed to make me happy. It wasn't a total disaster, just not good. The zenia that was a tiny smear on a frag plug with no actual polyps was the kicker.

Can you see it? It had been in my tank a while when I took this.

In other news I went to the LFS yesterday and the zenia there is down to $45 a stalk. At least they are large.
But it is the stringy kind I don't care for. Could be their lighting I guess.

My tiny smear is 20 pulsing polyps now planning to take over the tank.

The inside is quite fascinating. Very mechanical of sturdy brass and steel with oil damping. I think it goes to 350 pounds if I remember right. This stood in my fathers store by the front door and has been in our family much longer than me. It had to be certified by the State Weights and Measures department since it took money. It is very accurate in spite of it's long life.

Kadin brought Louie a cat tunnel from Ikea for Christmas. I now know how to say "Warning Keep away from fire" and "Made from steel and polyester fibers" in 37 languages.
I saved the tags. Like the famous Rosetta Stone and It only had 3 languages. My tags will be in a museum some day.

Morning! Just made some coffee and turned on the fireplace. It's a balmy 47º here in Long Beach, CA.

So it's that time of year when I get phone calls when my wife is out...and naturally, I was in the middle of my weekly tank maintenance that I do every month.

Ring...I answer..."Hey hon, busy with tank, whatcha need?"

Wife: "Honey, I found this...."
Me: "How much do you need, honey?"
Wife: "and I was thinking the grand kids could use more..."
Me: "How much do you need, hon?"
Wife: "And it's really not that much..."
Me: "How much do you need?"
Me: "And we were going to get some stuff anyway..."
Me: "How much do you need? In dollars?"
Wife: "No need to yell"

Long pause

Wife: "$50"
Me: "<sigh>....sure hon, no problem"
Wife: "maybe $100?"
Me: "uh huh, that's fine too, honey"
Wife: "no more than $200-$300 tops"

Long pause

Me: "Can you bring home some burgers?"
Wife: "Sure hon! Love ya, bye"

If I had a dollar for every time I had that conversation, I could afford that conversation

Packers playing horrible, foggy out all day and back to work after 8 days off.
BUT . . . . . work tonite and off til Thursday.. . … .. back Thursday night for one night then off another 4 days returning Tuesday night. What a Holiday break ive had and all with pay !
