Well, it was a beautiful drive. All the trees are covered in ice like some kind of “winter wonderland “. Unfortunately, the girls at Cuppa Sunshine decided not to open so we stopped at the Duncan Donuts drive through for coffee (YUCK)! Its sleeting pretty heavily right now and the snow should be here soon. We didn’t see the homeless gentlemen when we were out so I hope he is okay.

Hi Ned!
Hope you get your power back on soon. We were supposed to get snow on top of sleet. No snow but sleet for over 24 hours. 2+ inches of ice here. No power outages but I did order a small (Ice Cap) battery backup to at least control my return pump in the event of a power loss.
We usually lose power when the Springtime severe “T” storms hit.

I am amazed living in the middle of no where, you take a left at the second camel, that our power rarely goes out. We get 12 feet of snow a year, 30 mph sustained winds, -40+ temps. In 6 years the power has gone out for more than 30 seconds a whopping 3 times. The longest one was 2.5 hours. I grew up in The South and had power outages last days. In Yosemite we were without power for over 3 months once. I feel for you guys, but I sure don't miss it. Good Luck!

not sure how much white stuff we got. 8"? 10"?
and it's still coming down.
winds been whipping so the drifts are high.
mrs. couldn't make it out of the driveway. (KIA Sportage)

weather has been out of the South West. thanks fishdude.
later the wind will be shifting to North East so we get to have lake affect snow squalls.
as Shakespeare once said "to snow blow.... or not to snow blow? that are the question."

Good morning. Picture out my front door this morning. My husband did go out last night around 7 to snow blow and get ahead of some of it. Now he’s out again this morning. Who is else scoops or snow-blows while it is still snowing? We got 10-11 inches total. Some drifts are 2 feet.

some times I like to get a jump on it, but with the 20mph+ winds, it wasn't going to help.

That's a big nope right there! I left the east coast six years and moved to Arizona to get away from the snow. The only time I want to see snow is while I'm sitting in a hot tub at a resort.

I decided to leave the northeast the day that I had to spend an hour and a half outside in -16F weather. After 20 years in Florida anything below 70 is cool and anything below 60 is down right cold! ;Shamefullyembarrased

I can't imagine going back to what you guys are dealing with right now. I truly am sending warm vibes and wishing you all the best right now.

Good morning! We actually have light snow here this morning. I definitely didn't want any of that ice business and I'm glad we missed it. I like pretty snow in small increments!
