Good morning! Back to the old grind for me also. Thankfully, things are usually pretty calm between now and January. I'm still hoping to go part time, but it may be spring now. Lots of stuff to consider.

That's actually a good idea! I've done that very thing with an obnoxious damsel and my clown. I even let them chill out in the BioCube while my Kole tang recovered from practically being destroyed by those two. They are all in the 90 again and everyone gets along.

Glad it worked for you. I will get my trap out today. It will probably take me 2 or 3 days to get him trapped.

I was reading your build. I love the start of it all. You have more experience with these monsters than myself. I only had an emperor and she was a sweet heart. I had a powder blue, the devil from the depths.

You'll have to trust your own instinct and go with it. You know what to do, I say do it and don't second guess it!

Cmon now, I don't want to be that disappointment for all of his life. He has to be able to say somewhere in his life "mom loved me enough to make me some bread".

I gotta keep away from these sales though. I see some octospawns I want.... I may cash in early and ask the husband for "early xmas presents"

I really love yours and @WVNed 's system. I love the angelfish!! But I have a bta now and it worries me it will become a snack. Also, those emps get to 6-8" so quick. After that I think growth slows down. I do miss my emperor. 5' tank is not enough.

There were vendors saying "gold flakes" were more safe in reef tanks than other members of the family, I don't know how much more "safe" that could mean. They still get a bit large. But, wow gorgeous!!!

I now have a bta in this tank, I quess it is no longer just a fowler lol, but the clowns defend their nem from the angels and butterflies. I sectioned off one end of the tank with egg crate and had just the clowns and bta on that side for about a month until the clowns found the bta and we’re in it for awhile. Then I removed the divider and it’s been all good ever since.

This would work if my female clown wouldn't kick my male clown out of the bta. She wont have it. Using a live coral, anemone is off limits. Only the glass and scraper maybe used. She is a tyrant!

I dont have any desire to stress over new expensive corals and adding new fish would be very tricky.

I know you don't care for coral much and you love your fish. Don't fix what isn't broken!
The different tanks, is what makes keeping fowlr or reefs so wonderful. Everyone has their own goals. I think I am done with fish. I love seeing my firefish pair swimming out in the open as often as they like.

I am sorry about the lionfish loss :( I love those guys.

I would love to see these fish in a tank 4 times this big but that isnt going to happen.

The fuzzy dwarf lions seem to be more determined hiders. In a tank where eels and urchins can move some of the rocks they haven't worked out long term. You would be quit surprised at how much force a snowflake eel puts on an aquascape looking for food. Then you find your lion flattened between a rock and something.

The other 2 are large and doing well still. I would love to upgrade the 75 to a 180 but the economics of tank upgrades have changed a lot. I got a quote and the shipping for a 180 from Glass Cages is more than 2X what I paid for the shipping on my 240 plus stand a few years ago. It almost doubled the price.

Why don't you have a build thread? That is a great place to keep a lot of information, and for those who want to take a peak and steal ideas :)

Honestly if you look at some of my older threads I was having some trouble with my parameters. I'm waiting to get everything situated and stable before I make a tank thread incase someone new to the hobby ends up finding it they don't make the same mistakes I did.

that is the whole idea of a build thread, the trails and errors ,and success... :)
