Good Morning!

Good morning. Yesterday I worked on my 34 gallon. Water change, cleaned the sump, took apart and cleaned all pumps and power heads. Removed skimmer and putting in a refuge. With just 3 fish the skimmer doesn’t do much as far as skimming anyway. Also ordered a Reef Brite Hybrid light for this tank. Metal halide/led combo, yes I am going back to mh. My current led light is 8 years old and par meter an inch under water is only 100. Time to replace it! Had a productive day.

Good morning/afternoon.
Feeling really guilty today. My daughter's freshwater fish has died and she was really attached to it.
Sorry about the fish loss. My very first tank in 1979 was a 10 gallon FW. I knew nothing about it back then. Got a fresh water Angel and a few neon tetras. Store told me to do water changes once a month. That was it. Never used any dechloronizing products or preheated the water. The fish lived for 8 years and was so big when it stretched out its streamers the top one came out of the water. Poor fish, no one told me it would need a bigger tank. To this day I don’t now how the fish survived for so long!

wish my lfs had pricing like that.
Most people do. I don't know why this guy could sell firefish and most gobies for six or seven bucks when other places charge twenty five or thirty.

I would like to change some water soon because I tore my rotator cuff (for the sixth time) and soon, after the surgery, I won't be able to use my arm. It is tough carrying sea water with one arm.

Last night I ordered a glass of wine with my dinner. I was a little surprised when the waiter asked to see my I.D. “Do I look that young?” I asked. “No,” he responded. “I was checking to see if you qualified for the senior discount.”

Good morning! Looking forward to a box from BRS today - ReefNexus kit for my ReefBreeders Photon 48-V2+, a booster p[ump for my RODI setup(only getting 40-45 psi from my well water), more GFO, more All for reef, and a fancy doser reservoir.

My wife has been "encouraging" me to hurry up and move the tank so I can finish the flooring under it. Any strategies on how to to stall/turn this into an upgrade opportunity?! lol

I got this thing to use as a temporary holding tank for everything while I do the tank shuffle. It says food grade plastic, so I assume its good for at least a few days as a temporary home?

Well if everything is in a stock tank and your tank is empty, maybe somehow something accidently falls on or hits the tank and breaks it...oops. Then tell wife as long as I have to buy a new tank.....

i thought: "OMG! look at the condition of this side seal, i am not real comfortable continuing to use this tank, Honey. let me think about it , you know, the fish look a little stressed, i hear that can be caused by crowding. hmmmm poor things, what do you think we ought to do? "

Great strategies! Figure our good luck - the booster pump for the RODI is coming today, and I still have all of those empty 5 gallon jugs just laying around. And what's this? 75 pounds of a marco rock I forgot about?! :D

This basically happened to me. When I turned 50 my daughter had been kidding me about getting old. A couple of days later we went out and I was asked if I would be getting the 65 or older senior discount!

Good morning everyone!

Wow, that's big! My tank transfer from the 46 to the 90 consisted of probably 7 Rubbermaid totes and lots of small heaters (I probably spent more than you're spending)! I think that would work fine!

My logic was that if crap went sideways really bad for some reason it would be much easier if I had everything in one big stock tank instead of multiple coolers or totes or whatever. We'll see if I'm as smart as I think I am lol

that may work too

Good late morning! I almost had a panic attack....large coral shipment scheduled to arrive today. I kept having flashbacks to the NJ flood (my last coral shipment), crazy winter weather this week, pandemic shipping delays....everything! I was questioning my sanity. Why did I buy in January? Why did I buy during a pandemic? Well, thank goodness it's all here. Everything looks good and is in the tanks. Let the light acclimation begin!
