Good Morning!

Interesting. My Rubbermaid 100 gallon tanks have been filled to an inch of the top many times without a problem.

Storm conditions. I am having emergency rations. Bugles, beef jerky and sake.

That is my experience as well. The Rubbermaid brand tubs don't bow, but the comparable off-brands that I have bought do bow when full.

Good morning everyone! It's Friday...

Good Morning!
The snow is just starting to fall. We are expecting 5-6” today. It only takes ~1” to shut down the state of Tennessee so this should be an adventure. Temps by tomorrow morning expected to be in the single digits with wind chills -0*.
The plow is all gassed up and ready to clear the driveway and the salt spreader is filled also.
I have a Drs appt tomorrow morning which may not happen. The truck will get me there but who knows if the staff will show up at work.
Hope Y’all have a great day. Looks like indoor chores for me this morning and plowing/ salting this afternoon.

We got nothing, but our Nashville son 2 hours away picked up 7 inches! They were excited. Little Teddy had a blast....they had to drag him inside at 5:30 after it was dark. :)

Very good point about the side walls. I'm hoping it can hold enough water to completely cover my tallest pieces of scape. Should be good I think.
That was one of the challenges of my transfer. The 46 had been in place for 5 years, so I had rock encrusted together with coral growth. I had to take the rock out in large chunks. Everything did ok when I moved everything to the 90, but the rock was challenging again with placement in a larger tank. We added more base rock before adding the sand/water and kind of built everything back up over the base rock.

Here is a picture pre-transfer. I had to take off that top section with the monticaps in a huge chunk. Incidentally, this tank was set up in 2008 and there is Baby Clown, who still lives in the 90 today!

The biggest calamity was my prized brain coral in the lower right. I had had that piece for at least 4 years and somehow during the transfer, it split in half. My ICU nurse daughter-in-law proceeded to do "brain surgery" with superglue. It always helps to have an ICU nurse handy. :)

I hope yours goes well. The transfer day was one of my most stressful days ever!!

Good Morning Reefies.
snow finally stopped sometime last night.
more coming a few days. :D
look who showed up 5 days late....

last time a nurse told me.
hope you all have a great day.

Good morning all! Happy Friday! I managed to suffer through 11 hours yesterday so I didn't have to work at all today! It was worth it. :) High of 35 today, so I think I'll stay inside (have I mentioned that I'm a cold weather wimp?? ;Hilarious)

Have a great Friday! This may be a good day to check some water parameters.

Good morning. It’s 3 degrees here this morning. (Insert teeth chattering brrrr emoji here). When it’s this cold out I have to put my dog in his coat and boots or he just layers down and rolls over on his back. Poor old doggie.

Good morning! About all the snow, I used to live in Charleston, SC and it never, ever snows there. One day they predicted "light accumulation" overnight and they decided to shut down absolutely everything just in case. It never snowed and there were lots of jokes.
The following day it was snowing when everyone got up, but they didn't shut anything down after all of the embarrassment. It was a disaster. Any white at all on the road can paralyze a southern town!

This also made me laugh - a friend of mine from PA had managed to leave a snow shovel in their trunk during a visit home. There were people trying to guess what it was for when she took it out.

Good morning. I went out for my morning walk today and it was about 20 degrees below zero. OK, maybe not, but it was cold. The wind was howling like a herd of howler monkeys in Africa when they come across an open truck full of bananas. ;Wideyed

I treeked across the wilderness (of Long Island NY) And with the wind chills in the double digits and going down by the second, I was tired and hungry. It was dark, very dark, so dark even the bats were afraid to come out. ;Droid

I felt like Lois and Clark.

Cold Me.JPG

Birds were dropping out of the sky all around me as they froze solid while flying to Boca Raton in Florida with one or two bathroom stops in Georgia.

I was so hungry I was thinking of eating my dogs. Then I realized, I don't have any dogs and besides, I gave up dog for Lent. ;Drool

I slowly bent my arm and could hear the ice crack on my sleeve but I managed to take out my phone to see if my GPS could get me back.

The phone slowly came on. A message started to appear. I could barely open my eyes to read it.
The words started to appear:

"Like Seriously!!!!.......Put me back in your pocket" ;Snaphappy

I knew immediately my phone would be no help.

Fierce looking animals with bared teeth began to run past me like they were being chased by a rabid Yeti. They were large, noisy and hairy and at first I thought they were caribou or maybe buffalo. On closer inspection I saw that they were squirrels. But I could tell by their beady little eyes that they wished I would fall so the Yeti could get me.

I walked and walked and in the distance I could finally see the sun rise near my warm home.

I knew my wife would greet me with open arms and help me remove 4 or 5 layers of clothing.
Then she would hurry over to the stove to make me a nice hot pot of cocoa and ask me how my morning was.

She was sleeping.
