No not a Taco Bell Chalupa, but my Chalk Bass. The belly on this guys has ballooned the last two months. Honestly, I love well fed fish, but I’m curious what the R2R community has for thoughts on this? I’ve read some stuff on certain omnivorous fish that need plentiful algae and seaweed along with the meatier stuff. Kinda had a full plate myself lately, but I still get around to four feedings daily, mostly a variety of frozen because the intended consumers are a picky lot.

(I am by no means a fish expert) If you don't notice anything abnormal about it. Then I would think it is healthy.

It is slimmer a noticeable bit in recent observations. I’ll see if theres a good photo I can get today. Seems like a happy fish. One of my favorites, but I was curious earlier, because if you look at it swimming around, you would swear it just managed to gulp down several frozen food cubes by some of the girth in the belly, but never any distress. It will flash on rocks and sand occasionally. Not really any other things I could report. There’s a pretty good amount of various foods offered, probably 7 more of the 16 fish in that tank don’t need multiple feedings. Less food more often is pretty good for a few fish in that setup. I kinda like this picture I got several months ago of the purple tang. It is even thicker now, my purple tang puffer fish.

For the chalk bass, definitely once per day on food. It eats anything and that is great, because I need a little variety to get them all fed. Here’s pictures today vs. a week or so ago in the picture where it is facing head on.
