Hi everyone,

I picked up 2 female leopards today for the amazing price of $2. I was at the local "pet market" and these two looked so unhappy in an extremely cramped dealers tank that I had to take them home.
I live in the Philippines so $1 or $2 per fish isn't uncommon here if you go to the local pet markets. But, the fish never look too healthy, so I've got my fingers crossed they make it. But, either way, I know they have a much better chance in my QT than they did at the market.

Anyone got any great tips for these ladies? The pic is of their QT setup. Does it look good?

If not, I'll take all the good vibes I can get!

How large are they? Small males can look like females. I have two in my 300 litres and they going well together - but I´m nor sure of the sexes. Some wrasses is also known for switching sex.

Sincerely Lasse

They are both almost 3 inches.

They are in the QT now, when released after a long drip they both went to the bottom and played dead for a bit. After 30 minutes both had moved a little, but I turned the lights out to let them get settled.

I pulled the sand container before they went in, so tomorrow they are not hidden when I try to feed. Fingers crossed.

IMO the qt tank looks kind of small, especially for two 3" fish.
Something in the range of 15 to 20 gallons would work better for a full qt tank.
Once I get fish in my quarantine tank, I get them eating first before treating with anything for at least a day or two.
I use Coppersafe and take 4-5 days to bring up the copper to full strength.
I like to do copper for 28-30 days, then do 2 rounds of prazi pro.
Male and female leopard wrasses look very different.
Do a google search on them and you will see the differences.
Yours at 3" are pretty big and may be ready to change if they haven't started.
2 males in a tank never ends up well.

Which species are they? Meleagris, particularly, squabble and can result in the loss of one of them.

;Nailbiting Better to let them burrow if they so choose. Removing it is removing their sanctuary, and may just add stress.
Praziquantel
Right. Anything which contains such would be useful. Does anyone sell API General Cure there?

Thanks for all the in depth advice everyone!

Both of them were too far gone it seems. Neither made it 24 hours. :(
