Got my first fish

Hi all i am new to the hobby and set up my tank and cycled it… Today i got my first fish a frost bite clown and a royal gramma… acclimated them put them in the tank.. went to check on how they were settling in to the tank and the royal gramma has vanished… i have checked everywhere for it back of the tank… overflow rockwork no joy…
Has anyone else had a fish just vanish if he turns up I decided to name him AWOL..

my royal gramma did the same thing for a while... popped out from the rock work the next morning. they are masters of evasion in my experience. loved mine before ich got him though.

Sorry about that… They are a lovely fish…
Good news I took my rock work out of the tank not an easy thing as its all one pice and there it was in a crevice right inside the rock work she flopped into my hand.. I put her in a container and filled all the small crevices with filter floss as there are plenty of other places to hide..

Welcome to R2R and reefing. Yes, they seem to find places you can’t find by looking. my leopard wrasse hides off and on for a day somewhere I’ve spent hours looking for and still have no idea where it is.

I have read about wrasses hiding for days… and then reappearing days or even weeks later.. it scared me about my royal gramma as i have never herd of them hiding away like this my lfs reserved the clown and ordered in the royal gramma and they was put in the same tank until i picked them up…
