Apparently the vivid pink echino and the pink ******* look the same, or at least almost the same (I've never owned the Vivid). Both should have the green/orange mixed eyes though, even when tiny. I'm not familiar with any other colonies, except maybe one in Florida, but I don't recall who that was...

Well, now using a magnifying glass I can see little streaks of pink and orange mixed in with the green but it's very slight. Guess my guy still has some coloring up to do (and growing up :). Just a few weeks ago, he was predominately blue with small hints of pink. My tyree red wm behind it still is way off it's original colors after being stung by a favia.

i have never saw the vivid in person but i hear it's the same thing lol.... i got mine from a very reliable source but i dont know the exact linage because i never cared fwiw...lol i buy what i like...;)

Yep, I don't care which is which. Imo they are both gorgeous. Maybe when mine grows out I'll be able to identify which one it is exactly or I'll drop what the heck a message and ask them.

it's amazing looking at his pic and then my shot from today... i have had it for like 4 months and it looked identical in person to his pic and had me wandering if it was the pink ******* since it was almost red... i moved into high light and the pink came out and you see the difference...
i never really see the green in the eyes in person since there so small but i can tell it's there.....

I've also noticed I get a lot more orange in the eyes when it's in lower light.

I dunno... it doesn't look like it to me. I see zero color in the eyes, and that's not really a tiny piece at this point... Even the tiniest of eyes on my frags have shown color. JMHO.

Certainly looks like it could be the real deal. Given that you took the pics with lights off and probably with a flash then, the colors are probably not represented in full. Regardless, if it went through some major trauma, color loss would be expected. Additionally, Craze's Pink ******* isn't the exact same as the original Pink *******. Very similar, but it's from a different imported colony being sold by R. Negret for about 1/3 the price of the lineaged original. I would say you got what you paid for.

Oh wait, I missed this post... So is this known to not be the same as the Vivid/PB? I'm confused....

I would say it's the real deal mine looked like that for awhile.... Give it more light and time... Also keep your mag up above 1500 I had alot of problems with my chalices when my mag was around 1300 now I keep it around 1500 to 1600 and they thrive.... Besides my bgm it's a real pita!!!! Almost died a few times...:(
