GPS OR RICORDEA?

I got a small rock separated from the others on the sandbed, im was thinking about add there the gsp or the ricordea florida to make an island/garden, advices on what would look better? thanks

Ricordea is better imo. My experience with gsp is kind of meh because it doesn’t seem to grow as fast for me

I love both, but is a medium flow zone, i think rics like more gentle flow.

Keeping GSP on an island and keeping it from constantly creeping on to the sand sounds like a pain to me. I would go for ricordea.

Another coral similar to GSP but not invasive is a pipe organ coral. Has the same flowing movement but builds a skeleton.

If you want a fully covered rock in a short period, the GSP will be that coral. Florida Ricordias are slower growers and may not grow or duplicate for a while.

I vote gsp. It's easy to just tear pieces off as it grows. I have kept ricordia also and they were more invasive IME. They would pop up all over the tank. Gsp will spread but not to the other end of the tank.

Ricordea imo. GSP should have its own island too with very stingy corals around it to keep it in its place if it gets rude and tries to spread.

I love the waving movement of gsp. I do have to trim it back about once every eight months, no big deal.plus my tailspot loves hanging out in it.
