It looks like the mouth has tightened up so that's good.

If you have a turkey baster or something similar, removing any waste that the gig expels as soon as you see it is the best course of action.

I firmly believe that the infection is tied directly to the zoox and not the anemone itself, and the dead zoox that is expelled contains the pathogen.

Small improvements today. Had a slight deflation yesterday and still expelling zoox, any zoox that is released has been removed. Some of the tents look like they are bleaching but they are still reactive and sticky.

What kind of flow are you giving it in QT?

I have a slw 10 on full blast but the egg crate kills a lot of the flow. The gig hasn’t moved an inch so I’m contemplating removing the egg crate so it gets some more flow.

If the foot is anchored well I’d recommend giving it more flow, at least enough that is ruffles all the tents and even lifts the edges of the nem at times. This will help keep the nem free of debris. IMO, flow is crucial for their health and might play into their decline a lot of times during QT if the flow is too weak.

I don’t think expelling zoo means infection but happy it’s looking better. Whenever my nems expel zoo it’s after a big meal or if I change the lighting. My pic is a large purple LTA that came from shipping , it looked like yours deflated expelling zoo/ mouth a little open. I left it alone as it wasn’t deflated , it was just adjusting to my tank / new lighting

I should be more specific and say "dead zoox" that looks like pellets. When anemones are healthy they typically expel zoox that looks more like waste -- sometimes stringy but never pellets or specks.

Gigs and magnifica are bad shippers, and they quickly go downhill without treatment done quickly. Others, like LTAs, haddoni, and BTAs often recover from whatever ailment they may get during the shipping process.

Very true , I’ve never had a gig so can’t speak to them too much. The LTA was very hardy

No deflates is definitely a good sign. I would expect it to bleach a bit, but assuming it's able to fight off the infection, it should color up in a few weeks after it's put back in the DT.

It’s a Susanoo 10w aquarium spotlight. It’s a lot brighter than the picture shows.

Nem moved into the corner early this morning while the lights were out. Can’t see it’s mouth anymore but no deflates so far.

It’s looking really good..Healthy posture, moved to the corner to secure its foot better I’m sure. They like to anchor into a nook rather than a flat surface

I think it will need a lot more light. I would recommended put a Home Depo daylight color (~5500K spot light) on the anemone. It will ensure it get adequate lighting. 10W LED aquarium light is not going to cut it for Gigantea anemone which is often exposed to full tropical sun during low tide.

No deflates for the last couple days. Mouth seems to have closed up but I can quite see it fully. Got a spotlight from Home Depot this morning so we will see how it reacts.

Moved the power head closer to get more flow to the nem. Seems to be enjoying the added light and flow.

Looking good! No deflation, strong footing and sticky tents are all good signs! As @OrionN said Gigs love as much flow and light as you can give them! My 2 are probably getting close to 750 par at noon each day.
