A few months ago the controller box on my 24w green machine uv sterilizer. This is the box that has 3 connections, ac connection plus power to the pump and uv light. It failed after about 1 1/2 years. The little led indicator went out, it I unplugged and plugged back, it came back on for a short while. I wrote to the company and they sent me a replacement for free even though it was out of the 1 year warranty.

Now about 2 months later, the replacement has failed the same way. I just wrote back to their support but I’m wondering if other people have encountered this also?
I replaced the uv light a few months ago too since it was a year old and runs 24/7. I wonder if the light is an issue since the controller went out a few months after it was changed?

Thanks Phil

Are you certain that there are no electrical surges, etc - that could be causing this issue?

I guess it’s possible, but it’s plugged into an eb832 and nothing else on it seems to be having issues. .

You do realize the led bulb on the control box is an indicator for the uv bulb right. No led = bad uv bulb.

The uv bulb is only designed for 6-9 months of continuous use.

Buy a new bulb.

P.S. from personal experience using them over the years, if your going to run a UV bulb non stop, upgrade to something a bit more robust. The AA stuff is OK in a salt water application, but everything goes kaput eventually with them and the replacement bulb is nearly 1/2 the cost of a new unit alone.

No, I didn’t! I knew there was a window on the bulb to see if it was running The bulb was replaced in July so only 4 months old.

I’m surprised the company didn’t say that. Although the bulb was only a few months old when I asked about the original controller.
