If you look at the branch in the center, you'll see the protopalythoa/green button polyp is the clear winner. But only where it's touching my green slimer acro. Do I need to move the green slime (he kind of grew into that rock) or will damage be limited to where they're in contact?

Think I can see what you mean but your picture super super super blue indeed, looks like a branch hanging over the palys and just top little nub ok and rest dead ? If a coral getting stung / aggressiveness and corals suffering and you don't want that to happen then yes need move one,it's either do nothing or move one if one damaging other ^_^

I am dealing with something similar in many areas of my 120.
I am quicly finding out what kills what and who survives.
So far green disco mushrooms kill anything they touch.
Here is a pick of my green slimer winning the battle over an unnamed acro.

It took a month and a half, but the slimer finally go so bad I had to move it. It was dieing more than just at the base. When I pulled it from the rock, the palys had grown onto one of it's limbs and I had to amputate. Hopefully it will recover with half a foot of space between it and the palys now.

Anyone know how to get rid of pesky palythoas?

Calc paste works well.
I have quite a few and just started doing once a week treatments again.
I add calc powder to Aptaisia X. It thickens it up and applies better.
