Green torch in sand?

Hello all I just bought a green torch with 2 head small ones from my Lfs ....I put it in the sand is that ok or must it be on the rocks TIA

I would recommend putting them on a rock so that sand doesnt bother it and fish/inverts don't push it over
 
I have both of my torches in the sand with no ill effects. None of the inhabitants in my tank bother them.

I kept my torch on the sand and it loved it. I wound up moving it to the rocks after I bought an elegance coral and didn’t see too big a difference. I think either is good as long as it’s moderate lighting and low to moderate flow.
