Grooves in Candy Cane

What would cause these grooves in my candy cane coral? I think I noticed it a few months ago. Would flat worms do this? I have them on the glass. The water parameters have been stable at 1.026Sag, 430Ca, 1400Mag, 8kh, 0Po&No, 8Ph, 80temp.

Nothing to worry about as far as I can see. The skeletons are generally like that normally to some degree or another. Yours just happen to be covered in coralline awesomeness... except where they are not.

I don’t think it’s coralline. The actual color is more of a grey color. This picture is closer to the true color.

Dunno bout that. The purple looks very much like Coraline algae, I could be wrong. The grooves you are seeing is where, for whatever reason, the Coraline algae have detached and you are seeing the underlying dead skeleton of the actual coral stalk, IMO.
